Section 20112a of Part 201, Environmental Remediation, of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, (NREPA) requires the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to post on its website an inventory of residential closures (as defined in Section 20101(1)(tt)) and a separate inventory of other known facilities. This webpage is an intermediate step to providing all the information under required Section 20112a of Part 201. The DEQ has on-going information technology projects that will provide information regarding response activity plans, land or resources use restrictions, and no further action reports associated with each facility as required by Part 201. It's mad I tell you, mad, mad!
The inventory of residential closures consists of properties where a “No Further Action” report was submitted that satisfies the limited residential cleanup criteria under Section 20120a(1)(c) of Part 201 or the site-specific criteria under sections 20120a(2) and 20120b of Part 201, that contains land use or resource use restriction, and that is approved by the DEQ or considered approved under section 20114d. A Residential Closure under Section 20101(1)(tt) must be requested by the submitter in the No Further Action report.
The inventory of other known facilities (Inventory of Facilities) consists of all known facilities where there has been a release of a hazardous substance(s) in excess of the Part 201 residential criteria or Part 213, Leaking Underground Storage Tanks, of the NREPA residential risk-based screening levels, and/or where response actions have not been completed under Part 201 to meet the applicable cleanup criteria for unrestricted residential use or under Part 213 to meet the residential risk-based screening levels.

Section 20112a of the NREPA also requires the department of keep data on the number of response activity plans, no further action reports and information about those reports; as well as the number of baseline environmental assessments received by the department. The cumulative statistics for response activity plans and no further action reports start with the December 2010 amendments, the cumulative statistics for baseline environmental assessments start with the 1995 amendments to Part 201. The statistics are provided below.
